Examples of Growth could be; a) the implementation of a team training program, b) Development of a new service or product, c) Investing into a marketing program, d) Undertaking management meetings, e) Working with a business coach or consultant, f) Employing more team for a future project, g) Analysing financial reports for improvements, h) Creating new job descriptions for existing team & i) New office location & premises

Change is thrust upon everyone in business and also their leaders or owners. Successful companies, as Harvard Business School professor Rosabeth Moss Kanter stated, develop “a culture that just keeps moving all the time.” Please describe what measures the business/owner undertook in the past 12 months and what positive impact these changes had on business results. Whilst an investment strategy is an important compliance document, it's greatest contribution to members is in the guidance it provides members. Trustees or directors of corporate trustees should use the investment strategy as a way to see if their investments are still meeting the objectives that they set out. Here are some of the ways in which an SMSF trustee has employed a successful Investment Strategy. a) The SMSF asset mix was changed to meet greater capital growth/income requirements, b) Assets were retained for a long term goal even when short term results were not good, c) The Trustees reviewed and updated their investment strategy during the year, d) The trustees worked with a financial adviser to make the most out of their contributions during the year, e) The Trustees changed their asset mix to better suit their risk profile and the objectives of their investment strategy, f) Insurance was undertaken in the SMSF for members g) Trustees decided not to undertake a certain strategy because it did not meet the objectives of their investment strategy.

When all members of the SMSF are engaged and take ownership of the decisions of the SMSF, better decisions and results can take place. Working together to investigate investment solutions increases the likelihood of greater buy in and support for the investments held. Whilst it is not uncommon for one member to take over certain aspects of the SMSF's running, having more than one person engaged can lead to greater outcomes. Some examples of Member Engagement are as follows; a) All members attending SMSF meetings regularly, b) All members discussing investment decisions and reaching agreement on certain decisions, c) All members learning more about investments, d) All members meeting with financial adviser to analyse the SMSF and all of the income and expenses of the SMSF, e) Attending training and educational seminars, f) Using salary sacrifice to boost contributions

Have you thought about what type of life you would like in retirement and work to a plan to achieve them. Your goals can be grand or modest, it doesn't really matter, what is important is that you have an idea about what your ideal scenario in retirement may be. Your goal setting doesn't need to be 100% about the future, great goal setting allows for you to enjoy life along the way. Whilst your investment strategy sets outs how to achieve your goals, you need to spend time setting your goals and working out how achievable they are. Goal setting examples are; a) Thinking ahead to what retirement looks like for you, b) Engaging a professional adviser to guide you towards your goals & c) Realigning goals on a regular occasion in light of current circumstance, d) Examining which parts of your current life need to change to reach your goals

Some community services would not be possible without the efforts of volunteers. Thousands of unpaid hours of service underpin some of the greatest parts of our community, including sporting clubs, charities and not for profit organisations. Time spent volunteering, reduces the burden on tax payers and keeps the doors open for some services that government may not support. Things to consider when expanding on this section. a) The number of hours that the person volunteers, b) How effective the volunteered time is, c) How often the person volunteers, d) How much the rest of the community relies on the person volunteering, e) What personal sacrifices does the person have to make in order to volunteer to the community & f) What special skills are employed whilst volunteering

Being engaged with your community means spending face to face time with people. Using your skills to work with the community in a hands on way. Example could include; a) Working on a committee, b) producing literature or marketing materials, c) Coaching or mentoring directly, d) liaising with Government bodies & e) raising money and fundraising activities

Giving financial support directly or indirectly can have long lasting positive impacts on the recipients. Some people that donate, are not necessarily the wealthiest people. Please describe if appropriate, some of the details of financial support provided. You need not include dollar figures but details about how the contributions make a difference.
