How BIG is SMSF in Australia today?

SMSF’s make up an ever increasing percentage of the total Superannuation market each year.  It is now the largest sector of total Superannuation assets with 30% of the total Superannuation pool.  The sector has reached one million members. Total assets have risen from $132 Billion to over $532 Billion in ten years to 31 December 2013.  People are looking for ways in which to satisfy their Superannuation needs and are voting with their feet. The people want SMSF.
