Preservation Age
A person’s preservation age depends on the birth date of the person as set out in the table below (SISR reg 6.01(2)).

| 1 July 1961 — 30 June 1962 | 57 |
| 1 July 1962 — 30 June 1963 | 58 |
| 1 July 1963 — 30 June 1964 | 59 |
| After 30 June 1964 | 60 |
Before 30 June 1998, the preservation age was fixed at 55 years for all members. Preservation ages in Australia are currently under review as pension ages are to be moved higher under the 2014 Federal Budget changes.
